Lister D Type Stationary Engine.
7th May 2013
With minimal work - the Lister comes alive!!
Keith and Gordon checked over the Lister stationary engine. Checked the spark plug and cleaned the carburettor, reset the timing. The timing of the valves and the spark was adjusted to a rather basic mark on the flywheel and, with the addition of the correct amount of petrol.... It started with minimal problems.
Fellow workers were treated to the sound of the engine popping away and running well.
The engine will now have a few adjustments and then it is down to the cosmetics of the paintwork and the brightwork being cleaned and repainted for it's inaugural public debue at one of the next open days.
Ask to see it working and get Keith or Gordon to explain the workings...........
