Sadly, we are not currently in a position to open the pumping station to the public at present for two main reasons:
We are in the middle of replacing some cast-iron pipework and valves with steel pipe and fittings, to comply with current best practice.
We have been told that our chimney needs some re-pointing, but at present we do not know when this work will be done. While it is going on we will not be able to hold open days, because parts of the site will be needed for contractors' equipment and materials.
Coleham is a gem - an interesting and particularly important pumping station - and we are committed to getting back into a pattern of regular open days as soon as we possibly can. The moment we are in a position to resume normal service we'll put the details on the web site to let you know straight away.
